On 6 June 2025 , over 100 postgraduate students, alumni and student representatives from universities across the Great Bay Area gathered for a night of celebration, reflection, and inspiration at the annual High Table Dinner at the Ho Sin Hang Hall, hosted by the Chinese University Postgraduate Student Association (CUPSA) with generous support from the Office of Student Affairs (OSA).
Themed “Sailing with the Glimmer,” the event paid tribute to the aspirations, achievements, and transformative journeys of CUHK’s postgraduate community. The evening was further honored by the presence of distinguished guests: Prof. KO Wing Hung, Associate Vice-President (Student Experience)/ University Dean of Students; Prof. SO Man Cho Anthony, Dean of the Graduate School; Mrs. WONG CHAN Wai Ping Amelia, Secretary of the Council; and Ms. TAM Yi Lam Elaine, Director of Student Affairs.
Prof. Ko commenced the evening with heartfelt congratulations to the graduating cohorts, encouraging them to let the glimmer of their dreams illuminate their paths ahead. He praised CUPSA’s dedication to enriching the postgraduate experience through initiatives such as the Orientation Camp, Academic Bar, and career talks, which have fostered a vibrant and supportive community. Prof. Ko also highlighted a historic moment for student representation: the appointment of Mr. WANG Geyang as the first postgraduate student representative on the University Council, a meaningful step forward in amplifying student voices in university governance.

Echoing these sentiments, Prof. So expressed deep appreciation for CUPSA’s dedication in organizing the event, especially amidst the busy schedules of its graduating cabinet. He reflected on the holistic growth of students—not only in academic pursuits but also in the bonds and networks cultivated at CUHK. Prof. So encouraged graduates to embrace the uncertainties of the future with courage and vision, reminding them that their alma mater and the connections they have built will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration.
Although Mr. Wang was unable to attend the event in person, he prepared a heartfelt video speech to mark the occasion. As the first postgraduate student representative on the University Council, he offered warm congratulations to fellow graduates and expressed deep gratitude to those who supported his election. He emphasized that the creation of this role reflects CUHK’s commitment to student voices and marks a shared beginning in shaping the University together. Reflecting on the collective journey through challenges and triumphs, he encouraged graduates to move forward with honesty, courage, and purpose, celebrating not just a milestone, but a memory that forever ties them to CUHK.

The evening was more than a celebration—it was a meaningful gathering that offered alumni and students a chance to reconnect, reflect, and look ahead. It stood as a testament to the resilience, transformation, and potential of CUHK’s postgraduate community, and a reminder that the glimmer of one’s journey continues to shine long after graduation.
