The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) celebrated the inauguration of the newly formed Executive Committee of the Southeast Asian Student Association (SEA) on 9 April 2025, and the International Student Association (ISA) on 12 April 2025. These ceremonies featured distinguished guests, including Prof. KO Wing Hung, University Dean of Students, and Ms. Elaine TAM, Director of Student Affairs.
In his address, Prof. Ko expressed heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Executive Committees of both ISA and SEA for their dedication and contributions to support the international student community. He also welcomed the new committees, commending their diverse background and enthusiasm.
Miss Noppharada SUWANNURAKS, President of the outgoing committee of the ISA, reflected on the committee’s successes and emphasizing the lasting friendships and achievements that defined their term. Miss Panitsiree CHOOCHUA, President of the outgoing committee of the SEA, shared inspiring reflections on their journeys, highlighting the importance of unity among CUHK’s Southeast Asia students and recounting the difficulties and challenges they overcame.
The newly elected Presidents Mr. Thas THASANAKOSOL of ISA and Miss Kuntapath CHARUSROJTHANADECH of SEA, indicated that they are committed to strengthening connections between the University, international and local students, fostering a more inclusive and connected campus environment.
