
Music transcends boundaries, uniting us all. To celebrate cultural diversity and inclusivity on campus, “CUHK’s Got Talent”, organized by the Office of Student Affairs, with the support of the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages, provided students an opportunity to promote cultural integration with their musical talent!
The contest attracted over 60 performers for auditions on 21 February 2025 with 10 groups advanced to the final showcase on 27 March 2025. The performances included enchanting Chinese folk songs, lively Japanese anime tracks, catchy K-Pop, self-composed pieces, Western Jazz and Pop, French opera, and traditional Türkiye musical instrument, captivating approximately 360 diverse audiences at the Shaw College Lecture Theatre.
The panel of judges expressed pride in the students, appreciating the remarkable range of musical skills and cultural expression, reflecting CUHK’s diverse backgrounds. They hope to see more collaborations among students from different countries and regions, fostering friendships and cultural exchange.
Esteemed alumna Miss Hung Sum Yee graced the event as a guest performer, sharing her first song “你是我煩惱海”. Special guest Mr. Harry Ng, the renowned music producer and one of the judges, also expressed his admiration for the contestants’ creativity in this enjoyable contest.
