Sports Fiesta 2026 was successfully held at the University Sports Centre on 7 March 2026, bringing together 172 players from 43 teams and supported by over 400 cheering students. The event exemplified the CUHK spirit through sportsmanship and served as a meaningful platform to promote inclusion, integration, and intercultural connection within the student community.
We were honoured to have Prof. Ko Wing-hung, Associate Vice-President (Student Experience) and University Dean of Students officiate the opening ceremony. We also warmly welcomed students from CUHK (Shenzhen), who formed teams and joined the competitions, further strengthening ties and fostering collaboration and exchange across campuses.
The event featured a variety of games, including Cornhole, Dryland Dragonboat, and S.A.F.E. Archery®. Across all competitions, participants demonstrated strong teamwork, strategic thinking, and focused engagement, reflecting the power of sport to connect students beyond backgrounds and cultures.
Congratulations to all winning teams. Special recognition is extended to “Silk Road”, a team comprising both local and non-local students from Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, for receiving the Best Showcase of Cultural Diversity Award. The award recognises the team that most vividly demonstrates the value of student integration and cultural inclusion through sport and teamwork.
Our sincere appreciation goes to MUA Danceholic for their performance, and to every participant, supporter, and student helper whose contributions made the event smooth, safe, and memorable.
