On 10 February 2026, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) hosted a tea gathering at i-Lounge, welcoming 23 student representatives from 7 non-local student associations. The gathering provided a constructive platform for dialogue and exchange, strengthening connections and enhancing mutual understanding between the University and its diverse student community.
The following non-local student associations were represented at the gathering:
- Central Asian Association (CAA)
- Indonesian Student Association (PEMICU)
- International Student Association (ISA)
- Korean Student Association (KSA)
- Mainland Undergraduate Association (MUA)
- Southeast Asian Association (SEA)
- Thai Student Association (THAI)
During the meeting, OSA shared updates on the University’s future direction, with particular emphasis on enhancing the overall student experience, strengthening support for non-local students, promoting student mental well-being, and advancing campus development. These priorities underscore the University’s commitment to ensuring that all students feel supported and welcomed as members of the CUHK community. Student representatives also provided thoughtful input on further enhancing campus life, facilities, and student-related policies, and many expressed strong interest in contributing to future planning through ongoing collaboration and co-creation with the University.
To mark the festive season, OSA also arranged a Chinese New Year Celebration Session, introducing students to the history, traditions, and etiquette associated with the festival. The session was further brightened by the celebratory spirit as Prof. KO Wing Hung, Associate Vice-President (Student Experience) and University Dean of Students, and Ms. Elaine TAM, Director of Student Affairs, prepared and distributed lai see to participating students. The session concluded in a celebratory atmosphere, with participants exchanging New Year greetings and welcoming the Year of the Horse together.
OSA remains committed to cultural integration and internationalization. Through sustained partnership and co-creation with non-local student associations, OSA will continue to foster a campus environment where students feel a strong sense of belonging and where student voices are actively heard and valued.
