Inauguration Ceremony of the Executive Committee of the Non-local Student Associations – SEA and ISA (2026)

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) celebrated the inauguration ceremonies for the newly formed Executive Committees of the Southeast Asian Student Association (SEA) and the International Student Association (ISA) in April 2026. The ceremonies welcomed distinguished guests including Prof. KO Wing Hung, Associate Vice-President (Student Experience) and University Dean of Students; Dr. John LAI, Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Studies) of Business School; and Ms. Elaine TAM, Director of Student Affairs, who joined students in celebrating a new chapter of leadership and service within the non-local student community.

In his address, Professor Ko expressed sincere appreciation to the outgoing Executive Committees of both associations for their dedication and meaningful contributions to supporting CUHK’s international student community. The incoming committees were warmly welcomed and commended for their energy, diverse backgrounds, and commitment to building an inclusive campus.

Representatives from the outgoing leadership shared reflections on a term defined by growth, collaboration, and friendship. They highlighted the committee’s collective achievements and the lasting connections forged through their work, and reflected on the challenges the team overcame together—experiences that strengthened both resilience and solidarity.

Looking ahead, the newly elected Presidents reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening connections between the University, international students, and local students. With a focus on participation, belonging, and cultural exchange, the new committees aim to foster a more connected and inclusive campus environment in the year to come.
