LI, Yi Yan Betty
(Year 3, BBA in Professional Accountancy (PACC) Programme) – Member of the Synchronized Marching Team
“From scraping together a single team for the competition last year, to having two teams this year thanks to everyone’s enthusiastic sign-ups, I have witnessed the growth of this “family.” My original intention was never about winning awards, but about improving compared to my past self. More precious than medals are the support among teammates and fighting side by side—this is the best gift this competition has given me.”
LUK, Man Ting
(Year 2, Integrated BBA (IBBA) Programme) – Member of the Standard Marching Team
“Last year, I declared that our team was determined to win the championship this time. To make that happen, I committed myself to more focused training than ever before. We faced plenty of challenges along the way, but to reach our goal, I knew we all had to push through together. Even just before the competition, I was still reminding my teammates to remember what we had practiced. Looking back, I believe this championship is a reward we truly earned. And the tears that came in that moment is the truest answer to every bit of effort we had given.”
YUAN, Jingqi
(Year 1, Science) – Member of the Standard Marching Team
“As a newcomer from the mainland, I understood no Cantonese and had zero flag‑raising experience. Gratefully, my captain and teammates guided me with care—training side by side and helping me embrace Hong Kong’s culture. Through daily sweat, I deeply felt the power of unity in the flag‑raising contest, and truly grasped the fervent patriotism under “one country, two systems.”
YEUNG, Hoi Ting
(Year 1, B.A. Programme in Bimodal Bilingual Studies) – Reserve Member of the Synchronized Marching Team
“As a member of CUHK delegation, I trained tirelessly with my teammates to perfect our rhythm and unity. Our hard work paid off with dual championships. I am immensely proud of my team and honored to bring glory to CUHK.”
