On 25 February 2026, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), with strong support from the Hong Kong Police Force, hosted the Anti Deception Station at Cultural Square. The initiative aimed to enhance scam prevention awareness within the CUHK community through engaging and interactive activities.
The event drew an enthusiastic turnout, with over 300 students participating. Attendees enjoyed refreshing Sparkling Ribena and crispy golden egg waffles, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the treats, students tested their knowledge in the Anti Scam Quiz, gaining practical tips to guard against deception while competing for attractive souvenirs. Participants also received a useful voucher upon completing a short survey, further reinforcing the importance of vigilance in everyday life.
Adding to the excitement, the Hong Kong Police Force introduced mascots “The Little Grape” and “Anti Scam Buddy”, which quickly became crowd favourites. Many students captured joyful moments with the mascots, symbolising the event’s blend of fun and meaningful learning.
The Anti Deception Station was honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. CHEUNG Wai wah, Kelvin, Regional Commander (NTS), and Professor KO Wing hung, Associate Vice President (Student Experience) and University Dean of Students, along with other senior representatives from the Hong Kong Police Force and CUHK. Their participation underscored the collective commitment to safeguarding the campus community against fraudulent schemes.
OSA extends heartfelt thanks to all students and partners for their support in making the event a success. While the activities have concluded, the message remains clear: stay alert, stay informed, and work together to protect our CUHK community from scams.
