On 13 March 2026, the Office of Students Affairs of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) hosted the Outstanding Students Awards Presentation Ceremony 2025, honouring 199 students for their remarkable achievements across five categories: Arts, Innovation and Invention, Social Service, Special Achievement, and Sports. The Awards reflect CUHK’s commitment to whole-person development and its core values of excellence, resilience, leadership, and service.
This year’s ceremony was held under the theme “Dream. Persevere. Contribute.”, celebrating students who demonstrate determination in pursuing their aspirations and who contribute meaningfully to both the CUHK community and society.
Among the 199 honourees, 173 are undergraduates and 26 are postgraduates, including 36 non-local students representing diverse cultural backgrounds. Their achievements span a wide range of disciplines, community initiatives, and creative or athletic pursuits, showcasing the breadth of talent cultivated at CUHK.
The ceremony opened with a dynamic video featuring this year’s awardees, followed by a lively dance performance by CUHK students. A series of artistic presentations added vibrancy to the event, including a vocal performance, a Chinese dance performance, a singing introduction to the “Awardee Stories” segment, and the theatrical piece Fearless presented by CUHK Musical Group. These performances highlighted the creativity and dedication of CUHK students across artistic and cultural spheres.
The “Awardee Stories” segment also provided insights into students’ personal journeys, capturing their experiences in service, innovation, teamwork, and personal growth—core components of CUHK’s holistic educational vision.
In his remarks, Professor Dennis Lo Yuk‑ming, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, commended the awardees for their character, resilience, and contributions across the five award categories. He emphasised the University’s belief in whole-person development, noting that learning extends beyond academic settings into artistic pursuits, service, innovation, and sports, where students acquire skills and values essential to their future paths.
Since the establishment of the Outstanding Students Awards in 2018, CUHK has honoured over 1,000 students. This year’s awardees join this distinguished group, continuing the University’s tradition of nurturing young leaders and changemakers.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo and a mingling session for awardees, families, faculty members, and guests, celebrating the achievements of this year’s recipients.
